The Edit Button
TheEditbuttonactivateseachofthePC3K’seditors,andactsasashortcuttomanypageswithin
theProgramEditor.PressingtheEditbuttontellsthePC3Kthatyouwanttochangesomeaspect
oftheobjectmarkedbythecursor.Forexample,whenaprogramisselectedandyou
pressEdit,
youentertheProgramEditor.Ifasetupisselected,youentertheSetupEditor.
Thereareeditorsaccessiblefromjustabouteveryoperatingmode.Toenteraneditor,choose
oneofthemodes(modeselection),andpressEdit.Aneditingpageforthatmodewillappear.
You
canthenselectparameters(navigation)andchangetheirvalues(dataentry).Ifthe valueof
theselectedparameterhasitsowneditingpage,pressingtheEditbuttonwilltakeyoutothat
page.Forexample,intheProgramEditor,onthePITCHpage,youmightseeLFO1assignedas
the
valueforPitchControlSource1.Ifyouselectthisparameter(thecursorwillhighlightits
value—LFO1inthiscase),thenpresstheEditbutton,you’lljumptothepagewhereyoucan
edittheparametersofLFO1.Naturally,youcanfindeverypageinthecurrenteditorbyusing
thesoftbuttons,butoftenit’seasiertousetheEditbuttonshortcut.
The Exit Button
PressExittoleavethecurrenteditor.Ifyou’vechangedthevalueofanyparameterwhileinthat
editor,thePC3Kwillaskyouwhetheryouwanttosaveyourchangesbeforeyoucanleavethe
editor.SeeChapter5forinformationonsavingandnam ing.TheExitbuttonalsotakes

Programmodeifyou’ reontheentrylevelpageofoneoftheothermodes.Ifatsomepointyou
can’tseemtogetwhereyouwanttogo,pressExitoneormoretimesto returntoProgrammode,
thentryagain.
